Like any treatment that marks the skin on purpose, plasma pen carries risks: swelling, crusting, and pigment changes, which are more likely on darker skin tones. Picking the dots can scar. Your provider checks your skin type and history at a free consultation and suggests another option if plasma pen isn't a good fit.
What is the downtime?
Plan on 5 to 7 days of small dots and mild swelling. The dots crust and fall off on their own, and picking them can mark the skin. Most people are comfortable returning to work within a week.
